Meet our Staff

Miana DeLucia
Director Miana DeLucia
Miana DeLucia is the owner/founder of The Dance Place.  She began her dance career at a very young age when she trained at the famous Jersey Cape Dance and Gymnastics Center in NJ.  At an early age Miana danced with The Donetsk Ballet, Vineland Ballet Company, and Middle Dance Company.  She was a 1st place overall dance competitor in several national dance competitions before the age of 17.  Miana then went on to dance on a dance scholarship at Temple University in Philadelphia, as well as performing modern dance work with Vassar College and West Virginia U. Miana trained with many world renowned choreographers and companies some include Joffrey Ballet, Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, Frank Hatchett, Tom Price Dance, Sal Dupree, Mia Michaels, Sky Hoffman, Bev, Koresh, and many more.  Miana has performed several styles of dance for Nickelodeon, Will Smith, WWE, The NYC, orchestra as a dance soloist, the Latin Grammy's and much more.  She has choreographed along side of principal dancers for The Pennsylvania Ballet and The New York City Ballet.  Miana has choreographed for two television commercials and several musical productions some including Grease, Peter Pan, Give My Regards To Broadway, and many more.  Miana has won several awards and entertainment awards for her competition dance choreography at several dance competitions nationally.  Before opening The Dance Place Miana taught dance and choreographed for 15 different dance studios throughout the United States. In 2002 Miana decided to end her performance career and settle down in Long Island NY with her husband and children.  A few years later she opened the doors to the first location of The Dance Place in Hicksville NY where she is lucky to teach her passion and knowledge of dance to students of all ages.  Miana hopes her students will feel at home in the welcoming environment of The Dance Place where the staff can nurture the love of dance to every student who walks through the doors.  Miana was recently awarded an advocate of the Arts award for Long Island.  She continues to teach and choreograph for The Dance Place and is grateful to have so many wonderful teachers, students and families in her life.

Miss Taylor        

Taylor started dancing at the age of two, and competing at the age of seven.  Miss Taylor competed as an elite dancer with her studios company for eleven years.  Taylor attended many master classes at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway.  She trained with Frank Hatchett and professional ballet dancer Finis Jhung.  She also trained at the Joffrey School of Ballet and with the Radio City Rockettes.  Miss Taylor has performed at MSG for the Knicks, Radio City, and Walt Disney World.  She recently studied modern dance in college and graduated with a Liberal Arts degree.

Miss Alyssa

Alyssa knew she had a passion for dance at a very young age.  At the age of two she was dancing in her tutu, and by the age of eighteen she was dancing professionally for The New Jersey Devils.  In addition to being a "Devils Girl", Alyssa has danced in Hip-Hop videos and events featuring many stars.  Alyssa continues to take class at the renowned Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan to remain current with the latest dance techniques and trends.  Alyssa loves teaching dance and her favorite place to be is at The Dance Place with her students and watching them learn and improve.

Miss Krissy

Miss Krissy has been dancing her entire life and considers dance her passion.  She began dancing at the age of three, and continued studying all types of dance.  She began teaching dance in high school and knew then that this would be her career choice.  She attended the New York State School of the Arts dance program every summer in Saratoga, NY.  Krissy studied dance for many years in NYC learning from some of the worlds top dancers.  She has appeared on MTV and has choreographed numerous dances for different productions, events and activities.  She has a Bachelors degree in education and a Masters degree in Special Education.  Miss Krissy is also a licensed Zumba, Zumba Gold, and Zumba Kids instructor.  Miss Krissy loves working with children and adults of all ages and is happy to be doing what she loves every day!

 Miss Adri
Adri has always loved dance.  She began dancing when she was only two years old and was a company dancer by age nine and an assistant dance instructor by age thirteen.  Miss Adri has choreographed many award winning competition dances and continues to keep her skills sharp by attending dance workshops and classes at Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan.  Miss Adri attended Townson University where she studied dance and later attended Hofstra University earning a double Masters Degree in Elementary Education and Special EducationAdri has been with The Dance Place for six years and has been an integral part of building its all boys Hip-Hop program.

Miss Allison

Miss Allison is a native of Baltimore, Maryland who has been dancing since age three. She trained at Spotlight Studio of Dance in Millersville, Maryland throughout her whole adolescence where she learned to be proficient in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop. She went on to further her training at Point Park University and graduated in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance. Allison has had the opportunity to perform as a back-up dancer for the Backstreet Boys in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Pro Bowl and worked with professional choreographers such as Travis Wall, Robbie Nicholson and the Bad Boys of Dance before reaching her college career. At Point Park University Allison has worked with Kristina Fluty, Dionna Pridgeon, Garfield Lemonius, Ron Tassone and more.


A native of Wantagh NY, Mr. Todd has been dancing since he was five but it was not until he was introduced to modern dance when he was at BOCES Cultural Arts Center High School, and his dance career took off.  While attending Slippery Rock University, Mr. Todd performed in works choreographed by faculty, students and guest artists. “Knowledge – Lessons=Tests?” a solo that Mr. Todd choreographed and performed was selected for the National American College Dance Festival at the Kennedy Center in 2010. After graduating with a B.A. in Dance and a B.S. in Elementary Education, Mr. Todd danced professionally in Pittsburgh for several months before moving to Virginia to pursue coaching gymnastics. In 2012 Mr. Todd danced with the West Virginia Dance Company. Now living in NY Mr. Todd is excited to be teaching at The Dance Place.


Miss Pattie

Miss Pattie has been dancing since the early age of three.  She attended Adelphi University where she danced and earned a teaching degree.  Miss Pattie has taught dance for fifteen years and has been with The Dance Place for the past five years, and teaches all styles of dance to all ages.  Miss Pattie has choreographed many award winning competition pieces and is loved by every student that she teaches.

 Miss Kara

 Kara began dancing at an early age and has become proficient in many different dance styles such as Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Acro and Jazz. She has taken many master classes with several choreographers and has won many competitve dance awards throughout regional and national dance competitions.  Kara was accepted to and danced in the Eglevsky Ballet program and continues to learn and expand her passion for dance.  Kara won several awards for her competition dances and is very excited to be part of The Dance Place staff.

Amanda Pineiro

Miss Toni was born and raised in Queens, New York. She started dancing when she was three years of age and knew it was her passion ever since.  Toni has studied under some of the finest pioneers of dance. From  followers of Isadora Dunkin to Mark Morris, to Bob Fosse and personally by Savion Glover and Marshall Davis Jr. as well as the New York City Rockettes....Toni studied improv and choreography throughout her education and graduated with a Bachelors in Performing Arts. She started teaching and choreographing when she was 16 years old in a private dance school in her home town. Toni has choreographed for semi pro dancers for competitions and auditions (Groups and Solos) and continues to choreograph for private and public recitals.  As well as a dancer, Toni has taken a serious interest in stress relief and bodily conditioning techniques. She started practicing Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga and cardio/strengthening classes to maintain  stability following a major surgery. Toni became certified to spread the relaxation of the techniques.  Toni has taught at local health and fitness facilities in the area as well as continues to take class, because learning never ends. Toni believes that there is no better joy in life then to watch others smile and feel fulfilled after practicing what you have taught, because you know they are giving it their all, whether it is for fun, fitness, or passion.
